The main highlight of this book for me was the Liveship Traders characters cameo. If you enjoyed the Serpent’s POV in Liveship Traders you might not face this problem. I’m a fan of Hobb’s Liveship Traders trilogy but even there, one of my minor complaints were the Serpent’s PO the Dragon’s POV was practically the same thing as that. The problem is I felt the characters felt a bit too childish or YA-ish, even the way Hobb wrote them felt different to Hobb’s usual complex characters. The characterizations were great but I’m still not charmed by them like how I was with Fitz or the characters in the Liveship Traders. Although it’s almost 600 pages long, almost nothing actually happened in the story, it’s all about laying the groundwork for future books by doing characterizations first. As I said before, this is just a foundational book. We follow the story from the perspective of five new characters: Thymara, Alise, Sedric, Leftrin, and Sintara. I’m not sure but I heard this is the publisher’s fault as this was supposed to be one giant book but the publisher decided to divide it into two instead and it makes the book to not have any sense of ending. Bloody intense, bruh, I’m shaking in my boots. ![]() The climax sequences-if you can call it that-revolves around the Dragon Keepers fighting over an Elk’s meat to share. The Dragon Keepers have to herd the dragons to find their lost legendary city, Kelsingra. I didn’t give it up because I have been devouring it since I first got it!” Maddow told Schiff in introducing him. MSNBC’s top-rated host, Rachel Maddow, was even kind enough to read directly from Schiff’s book for more than 15 minutes straight in an effort to promote it, without a hint of scrutiny, before Schiff joined her for an “interview.” He gets rewarded with a lucrative book deal and an extended, friendly book tour. So does Schiff get sent to the media version of an extended timeout, a la another lawyer in the form of one-time media darling Michael Avenatti? That never happened, of course, because even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) knew there was no “there” there, post-Mueller report. If there had been, the Democratic Congress would have immediately drawn up articles of impeachment in an effort to oust President Trump from the Oval Office. Mueller’s investigation determined in 2019 that there was no proof beyond a reasonable doubt of collusion or of a criminal conspiracy regarding Trump and Russia. Bob Mueller will have to determine that.” “I think there’s plenty of evidence of collusion or conspiracy in plain sight,” Schiff told CBS News in August 2018. “Now, that’s a different statement than saying that there’s proof beyond a reasonable doubt of a criminal conspiracy. Schiff also made this argument repeatedly in the hundreds of interviews he granted during the Trump era. According to the indictment, Russian emigre and Steele dossier source Igor Danchenko made false statements on multiple occasions that ultimately served to support damning elements in the dossier that Schiff pushed so aggressively. That dossier has now been debunked and then some, all thanks to special counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Russia collusion hoax. This is the same person – as ranking member and then chairman of the House Intelligence Committee – who presented the now-debunked Steele dossier as gospel instead of gossip when he entered the unverified document into the congressional record. Any old-school television news producer would have declared Schiff as someone not credible, all while being incredibly predictable. In a sane media world, Schiff would have been jettisoned to obscurity a long time ago. No lawmaker has enjoyed more free airtime than the California congressman, despite his outright falsehoods about having definitive proof of Trump-Russia collusion. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is the most visible member of the Democratic Congress. The memo was released Saturday following negotiations between the Democrats on the committee and experts in the FBI and Department of Justice, according to a fact sheet provided by Schiff’s office. The memo also says that Steele’s findings in the dossier had no bearing on the FBI’s decision to initiate an investigation into Russian election interference and possible collusion with the Trump campaign, noting that the FBI had launched an investigation in July of 2016, and received Steele’s information that was contained in the dossier almost two months later. The Democratic memo counters that the FBI did not omit such information when obtaining an application, that its rationale for obtaining a FISA warrant on Page was clearly laid out, and that the application for a warrant on Page came after he had terminated his association with the campaign.
